Shelving System – Rosewood Ladderax Unit
- Description
Description
Vintage Staples Ladderax shelving system. Ladderax was designed by Robert Heal in 1964 and manufactured by Staples of Cricklewood in London for sale in high end stores like Harrods, Heals, etc. This is the ever sought after mid century design with upright ladders and teak shelves. All elements are modular and positions, heights can be rearranged in a configuration to suit your lifestyle and layout. This particular system has three bays. There are two sliding door cabinets, one with glass doors the other with teak. A chest of three drawers and a drop down bureau cabinet. Comes with shelving also. These systems are great for storing books, vinyl records, stationery etc or for displaying glassware, ceramics or houseplants. Remember that the cabinets can be moved around and set at different heights to suit your needs.
The Ladderax system combines upright ‘ladders’ that support shelves and cabinets, which sit on steel rods that hook onto the rungs of the ladders. One of the great benefits of Ladderax over its Scandinavian counterparts is that it doesn’t need to be attached to the wall. The whole set up breaks down easily when it needs to be moved and is so simple to rebuild. You can also be clever and source extra cabinets, rods, shelves and/or ladders to allow you add to and alter your configuration.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Some signs of age and use with marks and scratches to the cabinets and shelving commensurate with age. Some sunlight fading on the front and tops of the cabinets.
